The Intrinsically Safe Wind Monitor-IS is a high performance wind sensor approved for use in hazardous areas.

YOUNG 05501LM Wind Monitor-IS measures horizontal wind speed and direction and can be safely used in Class 1,Zone 1,Group A,B,C,and D hazardous areas. *The four-blade propeller is used to measure wind speed and generates an AC sine wave signal when rotating. Wind direction is determined by a wind vane attached to a precision potentiometer inside the internal housing. Internal circuitry converts the signal to an isolated 4-20mA current output. The instrument is constructed from UV-stabilized plastic with stainless steel and anodized aluminum accessories. The instrument can be installed on standard 1-inch IPS pipe. Includes a mounting ring that engages the sensor's base to maintain sensor orientation while servicing. Terminal connections are made via small clamp-style connectors in the junction box on the bottom of the sensor (no special connector required).
