Dytran Instruments 3086A4 impact sensor

The Dytran Series 3086 is a highly rugged IEPE accelerometer with a very high natural frequency for use over multiple frequency ranges. This tiny accelerometer is designed to measure severe impacts and other extreme short-duration events. High impact measurement requirements are usually above 2500g. In order to accurately measure shock levels of this magnitude,the accelerometer must have a high natural frequency,a robust construction,and a fairly compact size.,the Dytran 3086 series features a quartz crystal sensing element operating in compression mode,packaged in a sealed lightweight titanium housing with a total weight of only 3.5 grams. The device is electrically isolated and axially mounted with soldered pins for cable connections. This special connector style is designed to eliminate discontinuities during high-g events and reduce stress on the connector. The unique mounting configuration of the Dytran 3086A Series allows the use of field-replaceable cable assemblies (sold separately).
