Rotary sensors are used to measure the torque of continuously rotating shafts (such as non-pulse power tools). This new range offers an additional 5 N.m capacity and best-in-class pulse tool performance model and will be supplied with a UKAS calibration certificate from Norbar Laboratories. These sensors are called smart sensors. They have built-in intelligence in the form of memory circuits that contain essential information about the sensor and can be read by the appropriate type of instrument (TST and TTT),thus reducing setup time. They will also work with instruments that cannot read memory information by manually entering relevant calibration details.
