These pressure sensors are based on the piezoelectric measuring principle. The force acting on the crystal element produces a proportional charge at the signal output. A measuring amplifier is connected to the downstream sensor,for example ICAM type 5073A. . . This charge is usually converted into an evaluable processing signal,such as 0. . . 10 V. The special square shape of the sensor body and the introduction of forces at both ends via axial threaded holes provide advantages in special installation situations. The measured tensile force can reach 10% of the compressive force range. These ranges are not calibrated. However,they are often used to detect tool pullout forces,for example after a press fitting process.
