Digital mass flow meters accurately measure and display air and oxygen mass flow,volume flow,gas temperature,atmospheric pressure and gas pressure. Unlike most flow meters,digital mass flow meters feature a touch screen interface that can be instantly customized in seconds. This customization includes selecting preferred units for each specification,inc standard units typical of many scientific and engineering applications. For using a mixture of air and oxygen,the percentage of oxygen is adjustable. Unlike most flow meters,digital mass flow meters automatically adjust for typical errors in flow calculations due to backpressures up to 100 psig. The unit also features a 0-5 volt selectable output as a flow measurement,with an adjustable sampling rate based on user preference,and can be used with an oscilloscope or voltmeter. Digital mass flow meters use four sensors to accurately measure pneumatic specifications. Three sensors are in direct contact with the flow path: an anemometer for mass flow,a thermistor for measuring gas temperature,and a gauge pressure sensor for measuring gas/back pressure. The fourth sensor is an absolute pressure sensor mounted within the device,away from the atmospheric pressure flow path. Using the readings from all four sensors,the mass flow rate is calculated using current environmental and application conditions. The mass flow rate is then converted to volumetric flow rate based on the ambient current density and back pressure in the system.
