The deflection measurement system used in DLM solid flow meters is also based on reaction force,but uses a curved channel instead of an impact plate. As a result,the shock or impact is replaced by radial acceleration and deflection detected by the load cell. This signal is then processed electronically to produce flow and total weight values with typically better than +/-2% accuracy and 0.5% repeatability.
