Texas Instruments DRV5055/DRV5055-Q1 proportional linear Hall effect sensors respond proportionally to magnetic flux density. This device can be used for precise position detection in a wide range of applications. DRV5055/DRV5055-Q1 uses 3.3V or 5V power supply. Without a magnetic field,the analog output drives half VCC. The output varies linearly with applied flux density,and four sensitivity options allow maximum output voltage swing depending on the desired sensing range. The north and south magnetic poles produce unique voltages. Sensing magnetic flux at the top of the vertical package,two package options provide different sensing directions. The device's ratiometric architecture eliminates errors from VCC tolerance when an external analog-to-digital converter (ADC) uses the same VCC as its reference. Additionally,the DRV5055/DRV5055-Q1 provides magnet temperature compensation to offset magnet drift,enabling linear performance over a wide temperature range of –40°C to 125°C. The DRV5055-Q1 device is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.
