A programmable thermostat and radio frequency control device that communicates with a mains-powered wall-mounted receiver that switches the heat source. The RF transmitter is battery powered and is usually installed where a regular room thermostat would be. The controller uses 868MHz radio frequency signals to communicate with the receiver to control the boiler according to preset or the customer's own time and temperature settings. The 868MHz band is authorized for use in low-power home control systems and is extremely safe from interference or accidental operation. Adjacent installations will not conflict because each commissioned control set initiates a battery-powered transmitter with a unique address (like the network device's computer IP address)—no wiring required.
