MICROMO is pleased to announce FAULHABER’s new high-precision IER3 and IERS3 optical encoders. Both encoders provide 2 quadrature signals and additional index signal. Due to the optical measuring principle,the encoder's accuracy is very high. This measuring principle gives these encoders strong advantages in terms of accuracy and signal quality compared to encoders with other measuring principles.,with IER3 and IERS3,the typical accuracy of FAULHABER micro DC motors or brushless DC servo motors can reach 0.1° to 0.3°,making the encoder an ideal solution for high-precision positioning applications across markets.,the encoder can be combined with graphite-commutated FAULHABER micro DC motors (diameter 22 mm) of the CXR series and CR and with BX4 and BP4 brushless DC servomotors of the FAULHABER series. The encoder and its motor combination can also be used with the new FAULHABER MC3/MCS motion control series. The encoder is very compact and lightweight compared to other optical encoders. The encoder is a light-reflective system as a microcontroller solution: since the LED,photodetector,analysis unit and interpolation levels are installed in one chip,the encoder takes up minimal space. The diameter-conforming IER3 and IERS3 encoders are mechanically identical and compatible with the magnetic FAULHABER IE3 encoders. They only extend the motor length from 15.5mm to 18.5mm.,both encoders can also be used with line drivers such as the IER3 L and IERS3 L. Line drivers generate complementary output signals,making the data transmission particularly immune to electrical interference,especially in encoders with long connecting cables.,IER3 sets the standard and offers the highest resolution for its class with a resolution of 10,000 lines per revolution. The encoder has angular resolution of 0.009° and evaluates 40,000 edges per revolution. The result of high resolution is highly controlled dynamics and precise speed control. There are several further resolution variants. The IERS3-500 offers resolutions of 250 and 500 lines per revolution.,the IER3 and IERS3 optical encoders are ideally suited for dem positioning applications such as those in medical technology,laboratory automation,measurement technology or optical systems due to their high accuracy and repeatability requirements. Optical encoders are also used in automation technology,semiconductor manufacturing or robotics. Since optical encoders are resistant to strong magnetic interference,they are also well suited for applications with magnetic interference,such as in tomography or medical image sc and processing.
