The LM10 is a non-contact,high-speed linear magnetic encoder designed for use in harsh environments. The LM10 features a compact,sealed read head that moves 1.0 mm from the self-adhesive magnetic stripe scale,which results in a 100-meter travel range. Simple to install,the LM10 features a complete set of LEDs,wide mounting tolerances and an application tool for adhesive back magnetic scales. A bi-directional reference is provided,which can be activated via preset marks integrated within the scale or by adding a reference label to the top of the scale with the aid of a self-aligning mounting tool. The encoders are available in digital or analog output variants and are available in a customer-selectable resolution range from 0.244µm to 250µm. The LM10 has speeds up to 80 m/s; even at 1µm resolution it can exceed 7 m/s. Designed for extreme service,the solid-state LM10 linear encoder has an operating range of -10°C to +80°C,is watertightly sealed to IP68,and is highly resistant to shock,vibration and pressure. This rugged magnetic scale is also resistant to a range of chemicals commonly found in industry. Non-contact,frictionless design eliminates wear while reducing hysteresis.
