MXT-u00ae columns are constructed from Siltek®-treated stainless steel and are the most durable high-temperature GC columns available. High-temperature simulated distillation requires a column capable of withst temperatures of 430°C,as described in ASTM method D6352. MXT®-1HT SimDist and MXT®-500 SimDist columns exhibit excellent peak shape and low flow rates even at temperatures of 430°C! The unique MXT®-1HT SimDist methyl silicone polymer provides the correct retention time/boiling point curve. MXT®-500 SimDist carborane-siloxane polymer slightly changes the calculated boiling point distribution of aromatic petroleum samples.
