The NW Narrow Web Tension Sensor is a specialized bearing-mounted cantilever idler with integrated dual tension sensors designed to measure the moving narrow web tension of paper,film,foil or other materials.,made of stainless steel and aluminum with excellent corrosion resistance,the NW sensor can be used as a sensing mechanism for web tension control or display systems in continuous labeling,labeling or tape processes. It is mounted on a single-sided frame with cantilevered rollers. Precision-balanced sensing elements are mounted internally at each end of the roller to provide a highly accurate tension signal. This arrangement is functionally identical to the wide web tension measurement scheme using two tension sensors and a separate idler. The sensing element accurately measures the total web tension regardless of the web position on the roll or which edge of the web is tighter. The narrow web sensor is available in three roll diameters: NW size 0 is 2.25 inches (57 mm); NW size 1 is 3 inches (76 mm); NW size 2 is 3.5 inches (89 mm).,one option for narrow web tension sensors is a digital LED tension display built into the end of the roll. The base of the NW roller bolt is mounted on the cantilever frame of the press or machine at a desired point on the web path and the tension is read on the LED display at the outer end during operation. For machine operators who must make control adjustments when web force falls outside acceptable limits,the direct on-roller tension display is convenient and easy to read.
