The opacity meter's simple design and portability make it easy to obtain accurate measurements. It provides a precise method (± 1%) to detect and measure the opacity of smoke emitted by diesel engines. The use of opaque (smoke) meters can improve combustion efficiency,save fuel,and ensure compliance with diesel emission standards set by ambient air quality standards. The entire system consists of the control unit,sensor head assembly,extension rod,various connecting cables,calibration filters,operating instructions and a carrying case. "This is a partial flow sensor head required for use with an open exhaust system. Attachment to the partial flow head depends on the shape of the stack. One end is straight and one end is curved. The nozzle is attached with a simple snap ring. Bayonet (Straight) The nozzle hooks onto a straight chimney. The curved nozzle has a stop that allows for correct positioning.
