Typical AC-LVDT sensors used for turbine valve position sensing were never really designed for physically dem uses. LVDTs are stepped on,heavy objects fall on,sprayed with fresh steam,etc. The PG Series can withstand this abuse for many years,providing a new level of reliability at a cost comparable to typical LVDTs in use today. Everything about the Alliance Sensor Group PG Series Linear Sensors is heavy duty,from connecting the terminal blocks inside the IP-68 sealed housing to the 3/8-inch diameter core rod,housing the LVDT-U2019s core in the core rod,so that it will not vibrate loose or disconnect. Available in-line ball joints on the connecting rods eliminate mounting misalignment,and a dual-contact shaft seal keeps dirt and grit out. Electrical connections use European screw-clamp terminals that accept No. 24 to No. 14 AWG,eliminating the hassle of soldering connectors. 3/4-NPS female hub accepts liquid seal fittings,wire clamps or flexible conduit fittings.
