Alliance Sensors Group PGSD Series Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT)

Linear position sensors designed and manufactured specifically for power generation steam turbine control system applications,Alliance Sensor Group's PGSD series linear sensors are the first LVDT-based valve position sensors specifically designed and manufactured for power generation steam turbine control system applications. Many of the features of Alliance Sensor Group's PGSD Series Position Sensors were requested by power generation control engineers and are embodied in the PGSD Series Super Duty LVDTs. PGSD Series position sensors are available in a full range of 3 to 15 inches (76 to 380 mm). Features,Alliance Sensor Group's PGSD series linear sensors are the choice for power generator valve position sensing applications on steam turbines and are designed for physically dem use. The LVDT installed on the steam turbine is stepped on,heavy objects are dropped on it,affected by steam,etc. The PGSD Series is designed to operate in this harsh environment and application,providing a level of reliability that engineers rely on.,the PGSD series linear sensors have a terminal block inside an IP-68 sealed housing,a 3/8-inch diameter core rod,and the LVDT’s core is encapsulated within it,so it will never vibrate loose or break. An in-line ball joint on the connecting rod reduces mounting misalignment,and a dual-contact shaft seal prevents dirt and grit from entering the sensor bore. Electrical connections use European-style screw-clamp terminals with wire sizes from 24 gauge to 14 gauge AWG,eliminating soldering to the connector. The PGSD has a 3/4-NPS female hub that accepts liquid-tight connectors,wire clamps,or flexible conduit fittings. The sensor comes with a 3/4 to 1/2-NPS female adapter.,have never been used for power generation like the PG Series LVDT linear sensors. These PG sensors are designed and engineered to withstand the long-term demands of the extreme environments on the turbine deck,bringing a level of confidence and high reliability to the application.
