The petrochemical,gas processing,and gas pipeline industries require accurate,reliable,low-maintenance,and cost-effective carbon dioxide analyzers for quality and process control purposes. International Analytical Systems has met these requirements with its proven microprocessor-based non-dispersive infrared capnography monitors. This approach provides continuous online analysis. Process flow is adjusted to 10 PSI. A precision flow meter then regulates the sample flow rate to approximately 1.0 SCFH. Next,the sample is introduced to a specific infrared detection element,which provides an output proportional to the carbon dioxide concentration. The signal comes from the carbon dioxide analyzer and is digitized and analyzed by advanced microprocessors and associated software to produce 4-20 line outputs,relay alarms and RS232. The LCD display and associated electronics provide current readings,previous readings,cycle times,any alarm conditions,program prompts (i.e. calibration procedures) and fault indicators (local and remote functions). Capnography analyzers can also interact,communicate and transfer information to instruments from other manufacturers. Premium materials are selected for compatibility and used throughout the manufacturing process. Special attention is paid to wetted parts that come into contact with the process stream and are selected to be non-reactive.
