The SI-111 (formerly IRRP) is a precision infrared radiometer manufactured by Apogee Instruments that allows continuous measurements in field conditions. The SI-111 consists of a thermopile that measures the surface temperature and a thermistor that measures the body temperature of the sensor. The two temperature probes are housed in a sturdy aluminum body with a germanium window. Both the thermopile and thermistor output a millivolt signal. Our datalogger measures the millivolt signal and applies the Stefen-Boltzman equation,which corrects for the effect of the sensor's body temperature on the target temperature.
