The ST80 is a high-performance,rugged thermal dispersion technology air/gas flow meter that combines ultra-reliable,feature-rich electronics with the industry’s broadest range of application-matched flow sensors,inc FCI’s new Moisture Gas Flow elements,providing truly superior solutions for industrial process and factory applications. The ST80 also combines these features with a ruggedized transmitter housing and the widest range of process connections in the industry to provide maximum service life and ease of installation in the pipe or pipe you install. Damp or humid gases present a measurement challenge to all gas flow meter technologies. In many applications,it is the condensation droplets that affect flow meter accuracy and repeatability,rather than entrained moisture. While best engineering practices recommend using gas dryers,separator tanks,or thermally packed pipes to remove moisture from gases,these methods are not always possible or only partially effective. Moisture and condensation droplets can occur in the form of vapor streams moving with the air flow,or in the form of rain in an open vertical chimney,in which case the rain moves in the opposite direction to the air flow. Wet gas applications are typically found in biogas recovery (sewage treatment plant digesters,landfill gas,biogas production systems) and reactors,while raindrops are found in open vertical stacks and flues in power plants,oil and gas operations,chemical industries Commonly found in factories and refineries.
