The T1 Series Ring Encoder provides users with three products in one package. Like regular ring encoders,they are optical encoders first and foremost,but also have a multi-touch trackpad and a button,making them more versatile than most devices on the market. The devices have a surface diameter of 50mm,can track multiple touch locations,and feature Grayhills Instinctâ„¢ gesture recognition. This allows users to perform gestures such as moving the cursor,zooming,etc. by simply placing one or more fingers on the device.,rotate,scroll and flick just like using a regular touchpad or touchscreen. Tracked touch point data is sent from the device to the system via USB and interpreted using Instinctâ„¢ software. Instinctâ„¢ software is a of tools that,along with Grayhill multi-touch components,enable the creation of more intuitive human interface solutions. The unit also features a ring encoder that wraps around the touchpad for mechanical control,and a buttons for selecting the desired function. This means that these devices can eliminate the need for additional equipment such as joysticks,touchpads and trackballs,all in a much smaller package.
