- The skipper moisture meter detects moisture in wood or fiberglass reinforced plastic (grp) by measuring the resistance between two low-frequency AC signals transmitted by soft rubber electrodes at the base of the instrument of humidity.
- Because salt water is more conductive than fresh water,the Captain is equipped with different sensitivity ranges to allow testing of wood or fiberglass in fresh or salt water environments. Just choose the right ratio:
- Level 1: Moisture of wood in fresh water or grp in salt water
- Scale 2: Moisture in FRP in fresh water
- Scale 3: Moisture in wood in salt water
- The signal penetrates the material being tested up to 1 inch deep.
- Wood has a wider reading range of 5% to 30%,0 to 100,than other materials.
- Large,clear and easy-to-read display provides meaningful readings.
- The hold function allows users to freeze reading. Used to record readings when the meter face is not visible.
- The audio warning sound can be turned on or off.
- Not used when the automatic power-off switch is turned off.
