Pem-Tech ULTRA 1000-IR Gas Sensor

The Ultra 1000-IR Series is a microprocessor-based sensor designed to detect combustible gases using infrared sensor technology. Standalone sensors feature user-friendly interface and menu-driven calibration procedures and configuration. The Ultra 1000-IR uses NDIR (non-dispersive infrared) technology to monitor combustible gases. The detection principle is to use a dual-wavelength infrared detector to measure the absorption of infrared radiation. Infrared detectors measure the intensity of two wavelengths,one absorbed by the target gas and the other unaffected by the target gas. The gas concentration is determined by comparing the detector signals. The entire sensor consists of a stainless steel sensing head assembly,user connection board and transmitter board assembly. All sensor electronics are enclosed in an explosion-proof instrument box. The Ultra 1000-IR provides a 4-20 mA signal at the sensor proportional to 0-100% LEL gas. Additionally,the sensors are addressable via the MODBUS RTU interface. MODBUS outputs provide sensor status,alarm and fault conditions.
