The CAL01 reference magnet provides a stable and convenient method for verifying the accuracy and calibration of the USB2510X series magnetometers. The CAL01 reference magnet consists of two axially magnetized permanent magnet rings that allow the probe to enter the working area of the fixture from both axial and lateral directions,allowing the calibration fixture to be used for axial and lateral probe calibration. Unlike traditional reference magnets,which rely on placing the probe in a fixed location,which can create errors if the magnet hole is not properly sized or the probe is not properly gapped,the CAL01 is designed so that the magnet can move relative to the probe so the user can find Positive and negative peak magnetic field values used to calculate the calibration coefficient. When used in conjunction with a multi-dimensional graphical data logging user interface,this technology minimizes errors caused by probe misalignment and allows for fast and accurate calibration of USB2510x magnetometer probes. The graph below shows the peak magnetic field values when the axial probe passes through the axial hole and when the magnet rotates around the lateral probe in the lateral hole.
