Original Modification,the Oriental Instruments VAP3® Heated Pitot Tube incorporates a modification to the original VAP Pitot Tube,allowing it to work in most situations where the Pitot Tube freezes or starts to work less accurately. Standard VAP3® pitot tubes feature a unique average velocity and parallel plate patented design that when inserted into an airflow duct,they provide precise differential pressure output,allowing precise airflow measurement or process control. The heated pitot tube uses the same VAP3® pitot tube technology to provide extremely accurate differential pressure output while extending the traditional temperature range handled by the original pitot tube. Heated pitot tube with integral heating system now accurately measures air flow to -22 degrees Fahrenheit!,integrally heated pitot tubes can be installed in clean air or particulate-laden applications,and their accuracy typically maintains the accuracy of the original VAP3® (±2%) even when installed in icy locations. The heating system integrates a heating element into the pitot tube,so the problem of ice buildup... goes away. Since the pitot tube is not prone to freezing,the surface area of the pitot tube is not affected by damage to accuracy or even from flow measurement,eliminating the impact of ice accumulation.
