Avago Corporation is a supplier that designs, develops and provides a wide range of analog semiconductor equipment to global customers. The company mainly provides compound III-V semiconductor products. We have unparalleled capabilities in high-performance design and integration. Our product portfolio is broad and diverse, with approximately 6,500 products in four primary target markets: wireless communications, wireline infrastructure, industrial and automotive electronics, and consumer and computer peripherals. Our products find application in these target markets: mobile phones, home appliances, data networking and telecommunications equipment, enterprise storage and servers, power generation and renewable energy systems, factory automation, monitors, optical mice and printers.

Avago (pronounced a-va’-go) Technologies has more than 5,500 product series, which are mainly used in a wide range of application fields and end markets such as wireless and wired communications, industrial, automotive, consumer electronics, storage and computers. It is said to have maintained the top three market leadership positions in the fields of optocouplers, infrared transceivers, optical communication devices, printer ASICs, optical mouse sensors and motion control encoders. Avago's products are sold through a global dealer network and direct sales force.

In 2015, Avago merged with wireless chip giant Broadcom through acquisition to form the new Broadcom.

Company development history

Avago has 50 years of innovation, dating back to its days as a Hewlett-Packard company. After years of development, we have a team of more than 2,000 design and product engineers, as well as highly collaborative design and product development resources around the world. We have developed a broad portfolio of intellectual property products, including more than 5,000 U.S. and foreign patents and patent applications. We have the best on-time delivery record in the industry, and our superior global distribution network better serves our diverse end-customer base of approximately 40,000 strong businesses. Avago is listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol AVGO.

Dick Chang, President and CEO of Avago Technologies, said, "Our strategy is to use our extensive intellectual property, design experience and system-level knowledge to win the market. We will continue to provide customers with innovative products and support customers to stay at the forefront of the market. .At the same time, we will continue to improve profitability through a highly flexible low-cost operation model; we will also take advantage of the company's independent operation and develop an efficient independent cost operation structure."

Avago Technologies provides analog, mixed-signal and optoelectronic devices and subsystems, mainly including optoelectronic products, RF/microwave devices and enterprise ASIC products. Since being spun off from HP in 1999, Avago has always had a group of loyal customers in these three categories of products. Avago's net sales in fiscal 2005 were $1.8 billion, down slightly from approximately $2 billion in fiscal 2004. Chang explained that part of the reason was component supply corrections in late 2004 and early 2005 as OEMs built inventories in early 2004.

Jeff Henderson, senior vice president of global marketing at Avago, said that Avago expects to see substantial growth in all areas in fiscal 2006, especially in the wireless mobile phone market. Avago has products such as gallium arsenide (GaAs) power amplifiers and thin films using MEMS films. Resonant filters (film resonator filters) and other products and patented technologies.

Mr. Li Ting, general manager of Avago Technologies China and Hong Kong, said: "We have been actively expanding our business in the Chinese market and maintaining a good growth momentum. We will continue to deepen our cooperation with Chinese customers and take advantage of the maturing domestic semiconductor industry. , to provide better services for the Chinese market.”

Avago Technologies is headquartered in San Jose, California, and Singapore, and has 6,500 employees, 1,000 of whom are analog circuit design engineers. Avago Technologies has more than 35 years of operating history in Asia. About three-quarters of its employees are located in Asia, and most of its products are also produced in Asia. Avago Technologies' investment in Asia brings it closer to customer needs and the center of the global electronics supply chain. In addition, Avago Technologies has strong design and product development resources around the world, with six design centers in Asia, four design centers in the United States, and two design centers in Europe.

In December 2013, Avago will acquire LSI for US$6.6 billion and is bound to become a new player in the enterprise storage market. Avago executives said they hope to complete the acquisition by the second quarter of 2014, and that the combined company will generate at least $5 billion in annual revenue.

In 2015, Avago acquired Broadcom for a total cash and stock value of US$37 billion, officially merging it into the new Broadcom. The deal makes Avago an industry giant with a strong portfolio of wired and wireless communications products that rivals the likes of Qualcomm, MediaTek and Intel.
