MAE was founded in 1982 and is mainly engaged in the production of precision electronic instruments for geophysical surveying; from the beginning, its main purpose has been to combine the accuracy of data acquisition systems with epoch-making technologies represented by microchips and personal computers. Combined with the vast possibilities offered by innovation, these technological innovations are beginning to enter international markets. The digital network designed and produced by MAE for regional macro- and micro-seismic monitoring activities was immediately appreciated by the Italian National Seismological Agency (depending on the then Minister of Public Works) due to its technical and innovative nature, which was conducive to proceeding on a regional basis Installation (over the years this coverage will be extended to the following areas: Campania, Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo, Maurice and will also be provided with a mobile seismic network that will Installed on a special vehicle, capable of rapid emergency response); also used by many service agencies and foreign seismic observation stations. Among them, we can remind of the seismic and inclinometer network installed in Quito-Ecuador (1982), or the 24-digit telemetry seismic network developed jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and OGS (National Institute of Marine and Experimental Geophysics), The control and data processing center of the latter is located at IGEM, Georgian National Geophysical Institute (2005). Believing in its mission of technological innovation in the field of geophysical measurement instruments, the U.S. Seismological Service introduced the PS-8 seismograph to the world in 1983: the first fully digital and computerized handheld seismograph with integrated PC, monitor , keyboard and data saved on 5.4 and 34 floppy disks. In the same year, the first geological instrument GR-1 was introduced. In terms of investment in R&D, MAE continues to innovate and expand its proposals, covering all sectors of geotechnical engineering and C.N.D. (Controlled Non-Destructive) geophysical surveys over the years. The MAE Automation Division was founded in the 1990s by MAE's R&D department to develop industrial and civil automation systems within the scope of production line and process control management. Among the systems developed, it is necessary to remind (for the sake of brevity) those related to the management of workers, such as building entrance control systems, vehicle fleet satellite control systems, concrete and asphalt production automation systems, water resources remote monitoring systems, For automatic management of aqueducts etc. A special feature of MAE is the design and production of its measuring systems, which are studied according to the specific requirements of the customer and use the most advanced technology available. Drawing on the experience of MAE Automation, the domestic management platform TELECASA was created: at that time it was one of the first platforms in the market to be defined (in a pioneering way) in the field of domestic automation, and is now better known as "domotics". The company complies with standard requirements: EN ISO 9001:2008
