Canada Convergence Instruments Founded in 2008 by Dr. Bruno Paillard, it is a global designer and manufacturer of affordable, high-performance solutions for data acquisition and analysis. We design and manufacture small yet powerful data loggers with embedded acoustic and vibration measurement capabilities for the consumer market and various commercial/professional OEM markets.

In addition to the data loggers shown on our website, we also offer custom instrument designs tailored to specific customer needs. If you have special requirements that are not covered by our standard designs or are not available elsewhere on the market, please feel free to contact us. We are passionate about finding solutions to difficult challenges.

Dr. Bruno Paillard is Co-Founder and Chief Engineer at Convergence Instruments and is responsible for the design of all of our innovative, cutting-edge products. He completed his initial training as an electronics technician at IUT-Le Creusot (France) in 1982 and received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at INSA-Lyon (France) in 1985. He received his master's degree and Ph.D. Graduated from the University of Sherbrooke (Canada) with a PhD in Digital Signal Processing, completing the latter in 1992. His doctoral thesis focused on the emerging areas of auditory modeling and coding of music perception.

From 1993 to 2003, he was Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Sherbrooke, where he taught courses on embedded systems and conducted advanced research on adaptive filtering and active control of acoustic and vibration processes. His research work has led to several groundbreaking applications and technology transfers, including the world's first multi-channel active noise reduction system for industrial exhaust stacks. In 1998, while working at the University of Sherbrooke, he began consulting for D-BOX Technologies (Canada), which was developing the world's first motion simulation system for home theater applications.

From 2004 to 2008 he served as Director of Research and Development for D-BOX, where he developed their unique vibration dynamics technology. In particular, he was responsible for the hardware and software design of their DSP systems, including the groundbreaking design of their proprietary electromechanical motion actuators and computer-based motion controllers. His work at D-BOX was instrumental in securing over six patents for their motion simulation systems and technology.
