Hanna Instruments® is a privately held group that designs, manufactures and distributes scientific products for analysis in multiple industries, including laboratories, food and beverage, hydroponics, aquaculture and wastewater treatment.

The company was founded in Italy in 1978 and is now located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, USA.

Over the past four decades, Hanna has built an impressive global infrastructure that includes 4 manufacturing facilities, 3 R&D centers and 47 dedicated sales and technical support offices in different countries. Hanna Instruments has more than 1,500 employees worldwide.

Hanna's philosophy is to provide people with easy-to-use, common-sense testing methods at an affordable price. For over thirty years, Hanna has prided itself on being an innovator in analytical instrumentation.

In 1984, Hanna developed the world's first microprocessor-based handheld portable pH meter (HI8424), and our innovation continues to this day.

Led by our team in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Hanna R&D engineers continually challenge themselves to invent new and testing techniques and improve existing ones, with the common goal of simplifying analytical testing of our broad range of products.

We believe in controlling the quality of our products from inception to delivery. For this reason, we produce all the products we bring to the market, including meters, electrodes, chemicals and buffer solutions. Each of our manufacturing facilities focuses on a product line to ensure stability and higher quality.

Our manufacturing engineers always strive to achieve higher standards and continually invest in new manufacturing equipment and technology. As a vertically integrated manufacturer, Hanna does not subcontract any part of the manufacturing process. From plastic molding to glass blowing and chemical bottling to PCBs and electronic components, Hanna controls the manufacturing process in-house.

All Hanna products comply with international standards and our production facilities are ISO 9001:2000 certified.

Today, Hanna manufactures more than 3,500 products in production facilities located in the United States, Romania, Italy and Mauritius. We strive to understand the challenges our customers face when performing analytical testing so that we can develop practical solutions tailored to their needs.
