The Furman HDS-6\/HR-6 Audio Distribution System provides a very good sounding,cost-effective and flexible way to provide custom mixes for up to 16 people in recording and live sound environments. The combination of unique features adds unprecedented power and convenience to any multi-user audio application. The system consists of two components: a rack-mounted HDS-6 audio distribution system and one or more HR-6 remote mixers (note that HR-6 remote mixers are sold separately). Connecting the power distribution unit to the remote mixer is as easy as plugging in a cable - multiple HR-6s are simply daisy-chained together. Each HR-6 comes with a pair of 25-foot connecting cables,and other lengths are readily available at your local computer store or through mail order. For applications where daisy is not practical,a 12-port or larger Ethernet patch panel can be attached to allow multiple HR-6 units to be connected from a central location. Up to eight HR-6 remote mixers can be connected to the HDS-6,with two pairs of headphones plugged into each HR-6. The HR-6 is a compact six-channel,five-pot remote control mixer that fits on any microphone stand. When used in conjunction with the HDS-6,the HR-6 allows musicians to customize their own headphone or monitor mixes without the engineer having to touch a pad. The HR-6 offers four mono pots and one stereo pot. Four mono ports allow each user to create a custom combination of four console channels or busses. Stereo pots are often used for main control room mixes,or for stereo effects returns. The HR-6 also provides a Submixes Included\/Excluded\ button that mutes the four mono channels,allowing only the stereo source to be heard without having to the HR-6's four mono settings. The HDS-6\/HR-6 Audio Distribution System and HR-6 Remote Mixer are designed for high-end audio applications,yet are affordable for home studios and general live sound applications.
