Adding alarm relays and RS-485 outputs to the SensAlert universal transmitter opens many new applications and integration possibilities. The serial output uses the Modbus RTU protocol and provides 4-20 mA outputs in addition to 3 SPDT alarm relays. The extended user interface (MMI) is magnetic and menu driven for functional testing,calibration and alarm settings. The LCD display is used to the user through all functions,in addition to the usual indication of values,units of measurement and gas names. Three LEDs are provided for alarm. Digital transmitters are approved for use in Class I Divisions 1 and 2 with optional enclosures. Integrating large numbers of transmitters can be achieved by using multipoint loops,connecting up to 128 units with two or four wires,plus the required 24V DC power line. Accessories inc pipe mounting,sampling equipment and remote sensor kits provide maximum application flexibility.
