QSC Audio Products,Inc.,the Acoustically Designed line of QSC mounted speaker products extends with the new AD-C81Tw ceiling mount subwoofer system. The new AD-C81Tw is designed to complement audio systems with low-frequency extension,acoustically matching the entire AD Series. Rated at 100 watts and capable of peak power up to 400 watts,the AD-C81Tw is an excellent addition to any ceiling-mounted or surface-mounted AD Series model. The 8-inch woofer features a polypropylene cone to protect against wet environments. The driver features a synthetic rubber surround and works best with large ports to provide excellent low frequency extension below 40 Hz without undesirable port turbulence. This highly efficient design measures 92 dB SPL sensitivity. The AD-C81Tw has a built-in passive low-pass filter set to 120 Hz. The filter is removable from the front baffle to allow use of the outboard crossover points. The bezel and mounting lugs are molded from high-impact polystyrene. The rear housing is heavy gauge powder coated steel. Behind the attractive aluminum grille is a transparent white cloth. In order to reduce the gap for installing speakers on the side of the speakers,the speakers need to be installed in the vertical direction. The input cup cover features a conduit attachment point plus an additional daisy link wire knockout. Input signal connections use high-temperature resistant ceramic screw terminals that comply with European safety standards. The AD-C81Tw ships from the factory with C-rings and tile rails ready for installation. New construction rings (ADCNC) and mud rings (ADC-MRS) are also available individually. The AD-C81Tw is equipped with a 70/100 V transformer with multiple taps and 8 ohm bypass.
