The COSA/Xentaur Continuous Hydrogen Analyzer (CHA) has been used in numerous UOP Schedule A applications over the years and is manufactured under from UOP's patented design. It provides refineries,petrochemical producers and power plants with a means to continuously and accurately monitor hydrogen concentration in gas streams. outputs a continuous signal that directly corresponds to the hydrogen concentration. Combined with real-time control,alarm and shutdown mechanisms,responds immediately to changes in hydrogen levels to improve operation and safety. Unlike thermal conductivity-based hydrogen analyzers,directly and specifically measures hydrogen content. The sensor is built around a polymer membrane with proton-conducting properties and can detect hydrogen concentrations from 400 ppm to 100% volume over a discrete range with 100% accuracy or better (depending on sample concentration and reference gas composition),and maintenance Depending on the application,the sample gas stream is typically transferred to the from the makeup gas line,reactor outlet,stabilization tower exhaust,or generator housing. When the sample stream exits the analyzer,it can be drained or returned to the process. Installation is easily accomplished by factory personnel. After installation,the analyzer is calibrated to measure hydrogen concentrations over a discrete,specified range. Complete a simple two-point calibration in less than 30 minutes using two calibration gases of known concentration and a specific,continuously flowing reference gas. Thereafter,it is recommended to perform a calibration check every three months or when the reference gas cylinder is replaced. With no moving parts and extremely high stability,requires almost no maintenance. Commercial uptime is reported to be over 99%.
