ATI’s line of D12 gas emitters now includes a versatile infrared system that can be configured for LEL or toxic gas selection. The D12-IR uses a compact infrared sensor in a corrosion-resistant housing with a sintered flame arrester to meet hazardous area classification requirements and is suitable for most factory environments. The D12-IR gas transmitter eliminates the poisoning issues inherent with catalytic bead sensors. While catalytic LEL sensors provide reliable service,the presence of silicon vapor,hydrogen sulfide,and halogenated hydrocarbons can quickly degrade sensor performance. Infrared sensing technology is less susceptible to these potential interference factors,which means greater measurement stability and sensor life.,the D12-IR transmitter can be calibrated at the factory for methane volume measurement in special applications. Varies from 0-10% to 0-100% by volume. Additionally,a separate sensor is available for high percentage level measurement of heavy hydrocarbons such as butane and propane. The D12-IR transmitter can also be equipped with an infrared sensor for carbon dioxide (CO2) or nitrous oxide (N2O) detection. All sensor models can operate in diffusion mode with ambient air or with flow sensors pumping samples.,because the infrared sensor is always active,the transmitter continuously monitors critical sensor functions and indicates any sensor issues via the display and analog output.,the transmitter is designed for working in hazardous areas. The cast aluminum housing of the D12 transmitter is rated Class 1,Division 1,Groups B,C,and D locations and is UL,FM,and CSA certified.,the transmitter is available with HART™ or MODBUS™ protocols. The HART™ protocol uses the Bell 202 FSK modem standard and supports HART™ universal and universal operating commands at 1200 baud. MODBUS™ protocol supports 9600 baud for concentration and status information access and supports alarm settings and many other features over RS485 or RS232 (software selectable)
