KXTE9's advanced orientation detection reports changes in landscape,portrait,face-up and face-down conditions. This sophisticated embedded algorithm eliminates the need for a microprocessor for continuous data acquisition and complex calculations. With some adjustable parameters,the screen rotation algorithm can be optimized for an intuitive user experience. In addition to orientation detection,KXTE9 also has activity monitoring capabilities. This feature reports changes in the device's motion state,inc movement (active) or no movement (inactive). The KXTE9 is a highly manufacturable product with consistent product performance across a variety of usage conditions,operating from supply voltages from 1.8V to 3.6V DC. These high-performance silicon micromachined linear accelerometers and inclinometers consist of a sensor element and an ASIC packaged in a 3x3x0.9mm,10-pin,LGA package. The sensor element is made from monocrystalline silicon using a proprietary deep reactive ion etching (DRIE) process and is protected from the environment by a wafer-level hermetic silicon cap. The sensor element works according to the differential capacitance principle. Acceleration causes displacement of the silicon structure,resulting in changes in capacitance. Using standard CMOS manufacturing processes,the ASIC detects changes in capacitance and converts them into an analog output voltage proportional to acceleration. The sensing element design utilizes common-mode cancellation to reduce errors caused by process variations and environmental stresses. The voltage is digitized by the on-board A/D converter and accessed via the internal integrated circuit (I2C). Not recommended for new designs.
