The modules support a comprehensive set of 3GPP Rel.14 features relevant to IoT application scenarios such as improvements in power consumption,coverage,data rates,mobility and positioning. They are 5G ready,which means that once mobile operators launch 5G LTE,customers will be able to (software) upgrade their deployed devices,greatly increasing the scalability and longevity of the end product.

SARA-R511M comes pre-integrated with a u‑blox M8 GNSS receiver and separate GNSS antenna interface,providing highly reliable and accurate positioning data in parallel with LTE communications. In addition,the module offers unique hybrid positioning where GNSS position is enhanced with u‑blox CellLocate® data to provide location anytime,anywhere.

SARA-R510M is optimized to consume very low power,with the current in PSM mode being less than 1 μA,making it ideal for battery-powered applications. With the uFOTA client/server solution,customers can future-proof their solution through OTA firmware updates,which leverages LWM2M,a lightweight and compact protocol suitable for IoT application scenarios.
