Soundcraft now offers a Vi Series of control surfaces for applications where space is at a premium. The new Soundcraft Vi2 inherits all the basic features of its older siblings,the Vi4 and Vi6,but is only 850mm wide,about half the size of the Vi6. Soundcraft Vi2 comes with a channel area with 8 input sliders,and a main area with 12 sliders. Using standard stagebox and local rack hardware,Vi2 handle as many inputs as Vi4 or Vi6 (72 and 96 channels respectively),while accessing 8 inputs on the channel slot. By simply touching the input meter on the Vistonics\u2122 home screen section,control the input to the channel's shots,along with all channel functions such as EQ,Auxiliary,Group etc. \n\nIn addition to meter selection,three fully customizable layouts for 8-input shots can be customized through the new user gradient page feature,part of the V4.0 Vi console software update. The Soundcraft Vi2 will therefore appeal to those who want to use a Vi console but have more limited operating space than usual. For example,it could easily be brought to the side of the stage to serve as a monitor and existing console at a music festival or corporate event,where input access is less dem than multiple live bands. The Vi2 is also suitable as a space-saving backup console,and as an easily transportable training or programming unit. Vi2’s display files are fully compatible with Vi4 and Vi6 consoles and are also compatible with Virtual Vi offline editing software. All the usual processing is accessible via the local rack and even the 30-band graphic EQ's are accessible via the 8 output section plug-ins using the new paging system and are included in the new V4.0 Vi software for Vi4 and Vi6.
