Sensor-e® CO (TML30) measures carbon monoxide according to Beer-Lambert's law by comparing the infrared energy absorbed by the sample with the infrared energy absorbed by the reference gas. This is accomplished through a gas filter that alternately allows the high-energy light source to pass through a chamber filled with carbon monoxide and now a chamber without carbon monoxide. The light path passes through the sample chamber,which has a folded path of 14 meters. The energy loss through the sample chamber is compared to a zero reference signal provided by the gas filter to produce a signal proportional to concentration,with little effect from gas interference in the sample. This design results in excellent zero and span stability and a high signal-to-noise ratio,resulting in extremely high sensitivity. Multi-tasking software provides real-time indication of a wide range of operating parameters and provides automatic alarms when diagnostic limits are required
