Thermocouples are used in a variety of low-temperature applications,but special techniques must be used to get close to 1% of the temperature,even without considering the effects of high magnetic fields or high radiation fluxes. The problem is compounded by exposure to variable gradient conditions at low temperatures.,many Lakeshore temperature controllers provide inputs to accommodate the most common types of low temperature thermocouples.,the most sensitive of the three standard thermocouples commonly used at low temperatures (types E,K and T). Best choice for temperatures as low as 40 K. Recommended for continuous use in an inert environment. Sensitivity is 4.1 mV/K at 20 K (approximately ½ that of Type E).
