Kipp & Zonen
Company Homepage
Kipp & Zonen, Inc. of the Netherlands develops and produces a wide range of instruments for measuring solar radiation and atmospheric properties for use in the fields of meteorology, climate, hydrology, industry, renewable energy, agriculture and public health.
Based on long-term professional research on solar radiation measurement, Kipp & Zonen can provide a full range of high-quality, high-reliability and cost-effective precision instruments and accessories, covering the measurement range from the ultraviolet band to the far-infrared band. Our radiation measurement instruments are used in many advanced meteorological observation networks around the world. In addition, thanks to the know-how and technology accumulated over decades in the company and close links with external scientific researchers, we also provide solutions for the measurement of atmospheric properties such as stratospheric ozone, UV spectroscopy and evapotranspiration. .
Our mission is to meet your essential needs by helping you monitor atmospheric properties related to climate change, traditional meteorology, agriculture, renewable energy, and water availability budgets.
Currently a brand owned by OTT HydroMet.
main products
solar instrument
Kipp & Zonen solar instruments are the backbone of meteorological networks around the world and are widely used in climate research, hydrology, agriculture, water management, materials testing, renewable energy and public health. A wide range of accessories are available, including sun trackers, shade rings, ventilators, signal amplifiers, data acquisition and calibration equipment. Kipp&Zonen produces the widest range of radiometers for measuring solar and sky radiation. The solar instrument suite covers the spectrum from ultraviolet (UV) to far infrared (FIR) and serves as an integrated net radiometer. The instrument fully complies with World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and ISO requirements (where applicable). There is also a range of low-cost sensors and sunshine duration meters.
Atmospheric science instruments
The range of atmospheric science instruments includes products manufactured by Kipp & Zonen and other products developed by specialized companies and distributed exclusively by Kipp & Zonen worldwide. Generally speaking, these instruments are more complex instruments used in scientific research and network use, and are computer controlled by sophisticated data processing software. Atmospheric science instruments include Brewer spectrophotometers, scintillation meters, solar monitoring stations and radiometers for stratospheric ozone and high-precision ultraviolet measurements.
